Ah I've spent ages on playing with the settings to get the colouring way that I like now ^^ basically I creat my pallet for each part using around 3-4 colours light,base,shade1,shade 2. For my first shade I set my oppacity to around 60-70 and the light and second shade i set to 40-50 which gives a very soft feel to it ^^ hope it helps ^^
